Resins and essential oils are some of my favorite things to add to my skincare. In fact to my selfcare in general. I grind resin tears into powder to infuse into my skincare oils, and I burn it in homemade incense for those precious moments of mindfulness. Frankincense resin, Boswelia Sacra, has been used for centuries for its analgesic (painkilling) properties and now the modern studies confirm this traditional use. It’s also antiinflammatory, antifungal and antibacterial. But honestly I love incorporating it into my skincare mostly for the effects it has on my mind and emotions. It connects me to the earth, the wisdom of my ancestors, and the truths within my heart. It purifies my home, clears my path and blesses my intentions. Lavender essential oil and Benzoin resin work in tandem to elegantly round off the gentle aroma.
